We kicked off our first club project/event at Boyd Community Hub in Southbank on Saturday 14th July 2018. It was a mid-morning of yoga and mindfulness where three (3) sessions were held to focus on:
There were about 20 attendees that came for this free community event and every participant truly enjoyed it and gave positive feedback - in fact they highly encouraged us to do this more as Southbank hasn't had many of these community driven events recently.
We also got connected with Southbank Sustainability Group who had their fortnightly catch-ups at Boyd and supported us throughout the day. They have indicated interest/participation to join us for our Tree Planting Day event on Sunday 29th July 2018.
Congratulations and thank you goes to Iris Goh (friend of Rotary) who has co-ordinated this event on our behalf. Without her, this event wouldn't have taken place. Not forgetting our members Jasmin Dhillon in assisting Iris with the sessions and our beloved Nick Kane who kindly printed the posters so that it can be promoted online and throughout our communities.
This is a start of many things to come from our club so stay tuned for more.
We are back at the Belgian Beer Cafe in Southbank on the following dates so please RSVP on our website:
