Beyond the Job Interview - A wrap of our 'Your highest pay ever' event
Initial reaction when you get notified to be called in for an interview or series of interviews is that you get excited, this happens after submitting job application(s) almost there in getting your dream job. Though the case, you will find it challenging because you are just unsure what will pan out, whether it will be a good conversation or just a pure disaster with your future bosses/colleagues.

We gathered at Boyd Community Hub in Southbank on Monday 3rd September 2018 evening where twenty-seven (27) Rotarians, family, guests, and students - who came to our exclusive interview skills workshop (joint event between Rotary Club of Southbank and Rotary Club of North Melbourne) titled "Your Highest Pay Ever" to get more clarity and advice.

Past President Darren Veerapa from Rotary Club of North Melbourne shared several tips and consciousness - which candidates should pay attention to so that they are successful and have nailed the interview. The focus was on how to maximise the opportunity with the person(s) interviewing you, having a lasting good impression so that your profile and preference of being hired gets ranked higher than other candidates.

Keynote Speaker Past President Quin Scalzo, from Rotary Club of Melbourne (100th President) shared his journey when he moved to Australia from Italy with his family and how life then was so different in the world we live today. From extremely humble beginnings, his family business Scalzo Foods is now ranked in the top forty (40) listed companies within the Australian agriculture sector and has taken fundamental steps to be where it is namely, acknowledging & respecting people, putting in the hard work to get results, sacrifice where needed - but try not to miss all family time and many other compromises.

A great evening well spent on the first Monday for Spring 2018!
