Certification / Education

What are your achievements?

Achievements

Now that you have reviewed your skills, let's consider your achievements and your formal qualifications.

An achievement is something that you have done successfully using your skills and strengths.

Formal qualifications include:

  • schooling certificates
  • diplomas
  • first aid qualifications
  • formal training certificates

Your time to shine!

What achievements and qualifications do you have?

Consider the above and list your achivements and qualifications here

ACTIVITY: Look for achievements that came about because you provided a solution or response that influenced the outcome of the situation.

eg.

What was the problem?
What action did I take?
What were  the results?

Keep a record of them as this will assist you in interview questions later on as well!

Now what?

How do I match my skills / strengths and achievements to find a role?

Consider your list .

Is there a theme?

What achievements made you feel good, satisfied, and happy?

What achievements or qualifications have you not enjoyed?

Align your skills, strengths and achievements

Now it's time to align your skills / strengths and achievements to what you want to look for in a job.

You want to ensure that a role uses your top strengths and skills as this will not only ensure you are productive and successful in your role, but you will enjoy what you do.

It's also important to consider what frustrates you and align this with roles that you don't want to consider.

eg. If customer queries frustrate you then you may not want a customer facing role, however if you feel a sense of achievement when you help a customer with a query you will enjoy a customer facing role.
