How the 'Little Things' make a BIG difference

Posted by Jaqui O'Donohoe on 23 January 2020

On Tues the 21st Jan Rotary Southbank welcomed Faezeh Parkes to our meeting, along with numerous other guests to learn about childrenseechildrendo.org. This is a non-profit organisation providing creative resources, education and awareness for parents, children and professionals with a goal to have ZERO violence against children.

It was a very entertaining night with three children co-hosting with Faezeh Jessica, Zoe and Lottie.

We were introduced to the 'worry dolls' that are sold on the website with part proceeds going to the Fred Hollows Foundation and Faezah talked about how children need love and protection above their basic needs. The organisation has various acts and services via their website including the Virtues project which incorporates 5 strategies to embed virtues in children and uses the language of virtues to raise self-esteem and give children confidence.

Together we sang 'I think your'e wonderful' and Lottie gave us a beautiful rendition of 'Little Things' by Jessica Mauboy, followed by Jessica's rendition of 'Tomorrow' from Annie.

The night was filmed by Taymaynari Productions and we were encouraged to think globally but act locally when it came to ending violence against children. The next steps for this organisation are ongoing collaboration with the Police to help spread the message and protect and love children.

Unfortunately the night had to come to an end but not before Faezeh was inducted as a member of the Rotary Southbank Club A fabulous way to wind up an entertaining night.
