Dr Stephen Macfarlane Associate Professor and Director of Aged Psychiatry at Caulfield Hospital

Steve graduated from Monash University in 1991, and spent 17 years with Peninsula Health prior to moving to Caulfield in 2008. His responsibilities include clinical duties, service development and management, teaching and research. His unit at Caulfield is heavily involved in Alzheimer’s disease research, specifically, clinical trials of disease-modifying medications with the potential to alter the course of the disease.

Outside of work, he has been a fixture on Melbourne radio since 1995, presenting regularly on the topic of psychiatry in film on 3RRR’s “Radiotherapy” programme on Sunday mornings.
